How does a sanitary steam trap work
Pressure builds up inside the bellows expanding it and driving the attached plug (ball or conical tip) into the orifice at the trap outlet. The trap will stay in that closed position until the bellows temperature falls below saturation temperature.
What is sanitary steam?
Clean steam is a sterile, safe steam that can be used to sterilize and clean items in a cleanroom or other pharmaceutical or medical setting with strict cleanliness criteria. The industry uses clean steam—rather than standard steam—for higher levels of steam sterilization and humidification
Where should steam traps be installed?
Locate the steam trap below the lowest condensate discharge point of the equipment. Never install a rise in the pipe ahead of a steam trap. Check valves should be installed after the steam traps in most applications.
